Mechanical / HVAC

In all buildings, there exists mechanical systems for plumbing, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC).  Problems can arise if these systems emit too much (or too little) noise into various interior spaces occupied by people.  ACI personnel have a great deal of experience with noise issues for HVAC systems from design to commissioning to retrofit mitigation.

Types of Assessments Conducted:

  • Design review for new construction
  • Determination of Room Criteria (RC) and Noise Criteria (NC) values
  • Mitigation in response to complaints
  • Open plan office ventilation concerns
  • Air Handling Unit (AHU) excess noise
  • Plumbing generated noise
  • Noise from pumps/compressors
